Notification Box for Texts

I had to do a factory reset on my wife's Hero due to not receiving MMS or texts. Since I tried everything to help fix it, the last resort was a complete wipe.

My wife has an issue with when a text message is received and the phone is locked and in standby, part of the message is shown at the bottom of the screen and a box is in the middle of the screen until you unlock and clear. She doesnt like the messages to show because of work and having gone through the phone, I cant find a setting to clear it. Is this an issue with Sense UI or did I overlook a setting to hide the notification?

Re: Notification Box for Texts

I think your only option is to turn off notifications in the settings. I would suggest using handcent sms and then turning of notifications in the stock SMS.

Re: Notification Box for Texts

I haven't used the stock sms in a while so i cant remember if this can be changed easily, however try downloading Handcent (or another 3rd party text app) from the market. Handcent has much more control over its functionality and you should be able to set it where no preview is displayed.

Just make sure to turn off the receive sms and notifications in stock sms and set handcent as default

edit: Kbussen you just beat me to it while i switched form my hero to my laptop!

But yeah yeah dude switch to handcent
