nandroid back up onto new hero?

ok so guys i have a rotted hero runnginf FRESH's ROM and i did a nandroid backup on it and with a file explorer i see a nandroid folder in the root of my SD card.. if i copy that file and paste it into the root of a NEW hero i will be getting will it make it similar to the one i have now? i ask because i am returning mine for another one. any help guys? thanks

what you will have to do is root the new one. and get create a nandroid backup. then copy the original nandriod backup to that folder or rename the file the same as the newly created one. it wont work without this because the SN will be different from the old to the new

so:
1. root new one
2. create a nandriod back-up
3. replace new nandriod back-up with the old one i want
4. perform nandriod back-up
and im set?
just to be curious what does the nandriod back up restore =D lol

pretty much everything you need. it will bring the device back to the same state you had your previous one in. including apps, configs, setups, and so forth.

ok so what i did was a copied original back up to pc.
i then got new phone rooted it and made a back up.
erased new backup and copy and pasting original onto rood of SD card and tried to do a nandriod restoreand i got this..
" error : run 'nandriod-mobile.sh restore' vaiconsole! "
any ideas? =(

Are you trying to restore the nandroid from the SD card through the root menu?

yea? from bootloader mode where it says nandriod restore.. is that not what im suppose to do?
