Windows Driver Update
 

I just checked my windows update and there is an optional update called Garmen-ASUS-Other Hardware-HTC Dream Composite ADB Interface. Should I install this update or ignore it?

I just checked and there was no firmware update but it did update my PRL. Forgive my noobness but what is that, and also it didn't say what exactly would be updated. Any help ?

PRL stands for preferred roaming list. :)

Windows update on your comp or phone. Im running Android and Do not have that capability

It is the windows update on my computer. I don't have windows on my phone.

it would not be harmful to update it on your comp . just helps with compatibility of many different items

Ok. I would not recommend this update to anyone. I installed it and it wanted to reboot my pc. After the reboot it would no longer connect to my hero. Instead it brought up this troubleshooter saying there was an issue with the Sony Ericsson PC suite. I have no idea where this came from. The solution says to update your software and takes you to this Ericsson website where it asks what model Ericsson phone you have. This update does not show up in the uninstallable windows updates. System restore would not undo the changes either. I was able to connect the phone and go to the device manager and tell it to roll back the driver for the android device and get connectivity again.

Was this from Windows or some email or other install you had

It is on the Windows update for Windows 7. I installed it and messed up my connection also. I have fixed it and don't recommend using it.

Yep it shows up on the Windows 7 update but it only showed up if my phone was connected when I had it check the updates. Definitely stay away from it.
