Re: Hard decision

You will be shocked at the difference. I had a Touch Pro. I use it as a hockey puck now. Search for Touch Pro here, you will see comparisons.

I thought I would have a problem with the one screen keyboard as my hands are very big, but the predictive correction makes up for most of my mistypes.

HTC's integration of Sense UI really makes for a unique Android experience. They have done a fantastic job building widgets.

Just one warning if you decide you want a Moment, the battery life sucks! Otherwise it is a solid phone, big and solid.

Re: Hard decision

I tried the Moment because it has an 800MHz processor (pretty fast) and the Hero has 528MHz processor, but I liked the look, and feel of the Hero better. It has 7 front screens and I think the Moment only has 3, plus the Moment is thick in comparison to the Hero. At the end of the day, it is WHAT YOU WANT that is important... good luck, and welcome to Android!

Re: Hard decision

android > windows...

i came from the mogul to the diamond to the touch pro, went to sprint and it was a purchase between the tp2 or the hero.

bought me the hero and no more lag on my phone the response is way better and just a better phone experience. im guessing as the OS becomes mroe familiar and phones become more powerful windows is going down along with the gayIphone

Re: Hard decision

My view is..go for it.. its def a change from wm.. but in a good way..

But u have to decide for yourself and dont follow the hype.. My journey took me through. the pre, tour, tp2, in a span of 4 months.. finally broke down and got the hero..I too agree i like the build quality of the hero vs the moment..not to say the moment sucks.. It another great android set. I just dont trust samsung to mech anymore....but back to the hero.. in it current form it rock... but after u root and install say fresh rom.. its even better.. im glad i went through the learning process yest trying to get it rooted etc. It was a headache but my own fault..plus had kids running around etc. If i was left alone to read and learn it would have went smoother. its pretty much a painless ordeal..

anyway im totally pro hero and android from this moment on....best decision i've made..this year.lol anyway im gonna stick with the hero and wait to see what other nice nuggets of android comes out this year on sprint..( if any lol,, got 2.1 coming though )

the tp 1 sucks compared to the hero and even the tp2. def go try it out at the store. either one im sure u will be happy with..me hero all the way..

Re: Hard decision

I have the Hero and my wife has the Moment. The biggest thing to think about is whether you want the keyboard. Both have nice advantages. Over all thou I would say the Hero is a better phone even with the slower Proc. This really boils down to the UI. She loves my UI and has to have the keyboard. GL with your choice. Both are good choices. You will never want M$ again.

Re: Hard decision

I have the Hero coming from TP1 and I oove It. thought about the moment for a sec for apparent advantages but quickly changed my mind once my brother got it. The Hero is definitely the better phone.

Plus the Hero has better support, both from HTC and from users. There is considerably more development for the Hero In EVERY forum I've seen.

Finally once unlocked the Hero is even better! It's easy to root and even easier to flash any of the multiple roms that are constantly being updated, allowing updates/improvements FAR before Sprint addresses them.

Re: Hard decision

I came from the TP to the Hero, great upgrade. My wife had the Moment for a few weeks but switched to the Hero and is happy with the switch. I've loaded the Hero up with apps and I'm experiencing some lag but its still far better than Windows.
