Apps?

More of a generic Android question but...

When an app is installed where is it stored on the phone? I thought they were all stored in /system/app/{app name} but I was looking around there and although I could identify some of my apps I couldn't find them all there (or so I think).

so... where else are apps stored?

they might be on your storage card.

You can access the apps on your device in /data/app-private directory

got it, the phone I was looking at wasn't rooted... I'll have to solve that problem :)

Apps that come shipped with the phone are in /system/app

apps that you install for free or are non market go in /data/app

apps that cost money or whos developers are paranoid go in /data/app-private
