Apps are causing com.android.phone to fail

So I have found on my Hero that after I reboot it appears that some apps cause the process "com.android.phone" to fail unexpectedly. This has happened to me a couple of times but I have be unable to isolate the issue. It's unclear to me which apps are doing it. For a while I thought it was specific apps but while experimenting and uninstalling problemed apps, a few days later I would install the app and have no problems.

For example the metal detector app appeared to be a problem app but about week after I had issues, I reinstalled it with no problems. It is important to note that the problem only shows up after a reboot.

I can correct the above failure by going in and unistalling the most recently installed apps and things will be fine. Associated with the above failure is I cannot connect to the mobility network. Trying to use any app or process associated with dialing a phone number causes that process to fail. Additionally if i try to connect to the network via the widget or any menus, I get another process failure and the phone does a quick reboot.

My knowledge is limited but I believe something else is wrong other than bad apps. Hopefully I was clear but I am curious if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution. Before anyone asks I have to turn my phone off for my job and I would like to avoid a hard reset.

The phone has not been rooted and it is pretty much stock with the exception of apps.

You have too many apps installed. This occurs when you go over a unspecified limit. usually between ~ 70-100.

I didn't know there was a limit. Is this limit just for apps or does it include things like sprint TV and other things that came with the phone? Do you know why there is a limit? Because obviously I still have room to store more.

I believe its a limitation of 1.5, i may be mistaken on that however.

It's a bug specific to the Sprint Hero.

well, you have to remember widgets and such count as apps too. So I could see 70-100. I know i have crossed that limit a couple times with the same results. I just uninstall some stuff I dont need or want (game, silly widget, etc) to make room.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that 70-100 number includes built in apps, so I think the phone starts with like 20.
