Voicemail question

Is voicemail supposed to automatically download to the phone? Everytime I get a voicemail, the voicemail app tells that it could not be downloaded.

Yes it is supposed to do that. What rom are you running? Not that it should make a difference. I haven't received a VM in a few days, so I will try it out and let you know if I am having the same issue. I flashed to Fresh1.1 a couple days ago, but no VM's since then.

EDIT: I tested mine and it works fine. I have no clue as to why yours would not notify you. I get a cute little icon now showing me I have a VM. I am running Fresh1.1. Hope you get it fixed...

I tried it with the stock rom, fresh .7, 1.0, and now 1.1. I have never got it download the voice mail. I have updated the voice mail app. Is there any settings in the voice mail system that I need to change?

Hmm... Why dont you use the fresh-pre kitchen to uninstall it then reinstall it. Maybe that will fix it? You can find the fesh-pre kitchen (beta) here: http://www.geekfor.me
go to the downloads on the right had side, and you will find the DL for the kitchen....

just another thought.. are you using a task killer?, if so make sure you havent killed the voicemail app, I've found out several times that these task killers might be doing more harm then good if your not paying attention

I had looked on the task manager but I had it set to ignore it. TBH I am not sure what caused this. I did a factory reset on the phone and then flashed back to fresh and it is working now.

glad you fixed this. i had this problem too when i first switched out of my Palm Pre to the Hero. but it was Google Voices fault. i was using googles visual voice mail app on the pre. but had no use for it now that im on the Hero.

Re: Voicemail question

The app can only download the voicemail if you are on the Sprint network. If you are roaming, it won't download.
