Travel/Wall Charger Problems

I purchased this charger (http://www.cellphoneshop.net/trchforhtcpu.html) and it seems to make my Hero act wierd when swiping and using the touch interface... It doesn't do this with the HTC charger that came with the phone or a motorola branded wall charger of a friends...

Has anyone else experienced anything wierd with any other chargers? Any thoughts on why?

This charger is:
Input AC 100V-240V 200mA 47-63Hz
Output DC 4.5V-9.5V Max 800mA

Re: Travel/Wall Charger Problems

I have had issues with cheap chargers not charging fully, they try to charge the phone to quickly. I have never heard of a charger messing with the touch screen. I would stop using that charger and grab a brand name quality charger before you mess something up.

Stop by Radio Shack and grab an I-GO. Good chargers with interchangeable tips.

That variable voltage spec is bothersome. Anything over 5.5 volts is asking for trouble (could blow the zenor diode in charging circuit within phone). Use a charger with a single constant voltage output of 5.0 to 5.5 volts max.

BTW Stealth, your profile shows you have TP, but post indicates Hero?

Agreed, variable voltage is the likely suspect. The Hero is designed to charge from USB, which is approximatley 5.5 volts. I don't know of any device that charges from a mini-usb that takes anything other than 5.5 volts. The current may vary, but the voltage should always be consistant.

Re: Travel/Wall Charger Problems

Thanks for the input... I guess the next time i see a nice price I'll think twice before jumping. I'll just take my spare HTC charger and use it at work...
