Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

Given CoPilot's traffic service is the only one giving traffic updates for my area, I'm wondering "why" the traffic services in apps such as Garmin Mobile XT and Telenav don't?

Garmin Mobile XT and Telenav give traffic data when I'm in bigger cities like Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN, but when in smaller cities like Chattanooga, TN, Sevierville, TN and others, Garmin Mobile XT and Telenav traffic services go mute and only CoPilot has helped me avoid traffic nightmares in places like that.

Cool Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

I just found out that there may be a way to update Garmin Mobile XT maps to Garmin City Navigator® North America NT 2010 maps . Cost $70 to even try this, but at least there is an option. I have not tried this yet myself, but it comes from the T-Mobile forum's HD2 section where someone explained.

there is a legitimate way to update your maps on garmin xt...download city navigator 2010 north america and it will update the maps that came with xt. i had the 2009 map on mine and downloaded and transferred over the 2010 map and it worked. and it's not copied over the top the .img is named different than the stock map so xt uses both maps...if you put it on your xt...when you start it go to settings--manage data---map sets...and you will see both stock map and update...just be aware that this update is like a gig. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?...ue#overviewTab

Amazing review! You sold me on Garmin XT and just wanted to mention that with the help of BsB Tweaks you can make use of the accelerometer. I am now able to turn my phone and have Garmin rotate too.

Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

I have to update my use of CoPilot 8 Live. I went ahead and purchased the program with the Live features. Unfortunately I have to report that my experience with it was rather bad. Like many have stated the maps were out of date. Neighborhoods that have been around couldn't be located and worst of all hospitals were with wrong addresses at times. When I confronted ALK CoPilot Live 8 service representatives with the lack of proper updates they stated that the HD2 VERSION IS NOT UP TO DATE WITH MAPS. The ONLY VERSION THAT HAS RECEIVED THE UPDATED MAPS ARE THE ORIGINAL NON HD2 VERSION. While I can understand the the OP had a rather good experience with theirs I believe that maybe it's a rather small town or calm town that doesn't have as much construction going on as Houston. Currently they won't tell me when the HD2 version will receive the updated maps, but I hate to think that this piece of information is left out when buying their program. Weird enough, they state their "Live Search" is up to date yet the "Live Search" is what gave me a wrong hospital address. Not just a wrong address, but the address of where the hospital used to be TWELVE YEARS AGO!!!! How is that "updated"? I can't help but feel they just gave HTC a good deal that they couldn't pass up to have an app SPECIFICALLY for their device. I hope they fix this soon, but I can't expect anything right now. This was just worth reporting because while some BELIEVE they have up to date maps on CoPilot I've received word that they haven't done this to the HD2 version so it's not possible that anyone with the HD2 has "updated" or "current" maps.

Your statements don't seem to jive with the actual product at all.

There is only one set of North America maps. Not seperate maps for the HD2 versus other devices.

I've used the product in both large and small cities and plenty of other users have as well. While many others are saying otherwise, you're claiming issues nobody else is reporting.

I'll just end with you by saying I find your claims to be highly suspect, and not comparable with what so many others besides myself who use the product are saying.

Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

My wife and I just went to Canada for our first anniversary and we have an older garmin GPS... I needed maps for Canada which was going to cost us about $100 (not to mention another $80 or so to upgrade the USA maps). So I went ahead and spent $30 on Copilot Live 8 and it was the best decision! There were a couple of times that because of the GPS (delaying and such) we passed our street/exit, but this has happened with our garmin before. Anyway, I recommend Copilot Live to anyone... it is excellent and so is it's price.

Thumbs up Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

+1 from me for the excellent review. I use CoPilot daily on my HD2 and have had no problems at all with it. I got lucky and purchased it last December when they had a 1- or 2-day sale for $19.99. It's as good as my TomTom One XL-S.

Re: CoPilot Live 8.0.0.644 vs Telenav 5.5.43 vs Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp on the HD2

Just did a search and found this thread, I have a couple of questions.
First I have a Samsung Intrepid, which runs WM6.5, I am looking for a new GPS program, I have Garmin Mobile XT, but am very unhappy with Garmin, considering they charged me $100 for the software then just dropped support for it, shame on them as far as I am concerned, that said, I have looked at Copilot, and it looks great but I tried Destinator and it could not find my GPS, has anyone had a problem with Copilot finding their GPS?
Also has anyone tried ZorroGPS, and how does it compair?
Thanks for your help
Terry
