Re: T-Mo data speeds; What you got?
Once everyone is using HSPA+, It will slow the the speed again. Right now, Those people will hit 10mbps on tests areas. But when it's available to everybody, You'll be lucky if you hit 3mbps.

Re: T-Mo data speeds; What you got?
PS - Don't use the 100k test, please use at least 1MB+ to get a reliable result. 100k is too little for the test to really be accurate.

Re: T-Mo data speeds; What you got?
I got almost the same speeds on mobilespeedtest.com as you(7+mbps)but honestly my tp2 with Sprint seemed snappier. I don't think mobile speed test is that accurate.

Re: T-Mo data speeds; What you got?
Sadly, I agree.. Even though I'd love to say my 7200kbps is accurate, I doubt it is. But I do seem to range between 6500-7500kbps with PIE on mobilespeedtest.com
The only true test in my opinion is to do an actual file transfer. Find a 20MB-50Mb size file hosted somewhere on the internet. Download it repeatedly on your phone and keep track of how long it took each time. Remember that 1KB = 8Kb, bits and bytes are NOT the same. Using this test, I'm averaging around 1600kbps in the real world, which I'm pretty happy about for now. HSPA should easily triple that speed. I think we should all try this test and then post back our results. |
