HD2 on ATT?

As of now, I currently have the Touch Pro 2 on sprint with sero and its great. The only problem is that I cant ignore that the HD2 is clearly the best phone in the WORLD!!! I've decided to bite the bullet and pick it up. The problem is that I dont know what carrier to activate it on, AT&T or T-Mobile. I know i will only get edge on both, but i would appreciate some feedback from users who currently have the phone in the US. Thanks a lot.

Re: HD2 on ATT?

I, like you will be leaving sprint and getting the hd2 too... In the part of california where i live tmble coverage is great and i will get 3g where i live, work and play so thats who im gonna be with. I suggest you go to each website tmble and att and see who is going to give you the best coverage (sure tmble has better coverage overall vs tmble, but it depends on where you live if that coverage will benefit you at all.) If they are equal, i suggest you see who is going to give you what you want for the least amnt of money.

Re: HD2 on ATT?

I have a HD2 on AT&T since 1/4/10 - granted it's Edge but with the 1Ghz makes up for it - Edge coverage is good as well - I am in Western Michigan. Running custom ROM from XDA also works great - WM 6.5.1 with Sense 2.5. Well the 4.3 screen is great - very pleased so far.

I too have ATT as my carrier since I had my Kaiser. Out here in the Rockies I often only get Edge but can ocassionally connect with 3G on the Kaiser. I've had my HTC HD2 now since before Thanksiving, an unlocked UK model (without US 3G). I'm very satisfied with it and tho I did enjoy 3G before for the times I roamed in civilization, the question for me becomes, will I or won't I spring for an unlocked 3G model when they finally hit the US.....

We'll see.

Take Care

Do you live in/around Denver by any chance? I'm jealous that you already have the HD2, I have been waiting so long for the US version. I plan on switching to T-Mobile when they release it in March finally.

What kind of speeds do you end up getting with edge btw?

Re: HD2 on ATT?

Quick ?, if I'm on an edge connection, does that slow down my gps connecetion. I use my phone for gps and this is kinda important.

Re: HD2 on ATT?

GPS connection should not be slowed down by EDGE, but how quickly your maps load will definitely be slower.

Cool Re: HD2 on ATT?

You fine people ever tried getting the new HD2 model "T9193"? It has the 850Mhz frequency which AT&T uses (since they're rolling their 1900Mhz spectrum to the better 850 one) "AND IT WORKS" with 3G network as if the phone was sold by AT&T itself. I know this because I've already purchased the T9193 from the Australian Carrier "Telstra" which uses 2100Mhz (which also Europe, South America and Asia AND T-Mobile USA uses) and 850Mhz for their NextG HSDPA network. It's a great phone and works can't do it any justice. Look up more info on it in google =D Take care.
