Using my EVO 4g as a modem HELP

I upgraded to a Sprint EVO 4g with unlimited data package, from a Palm Treo Pro. On my Palm I could use my phone as a modem with the internet sharing app. On my EVO I dont see an app to use the phone as a modem. Does The EVO have the capability to be used as a modem? I know it has the tethering. But it says I have to add this function to my plan. The cost of my plan is high enough. I am not trying to pay for anymore services. So I was wondering if there is a way to do this without paying for an additional service on my plan. Any assistance will be appreciated.

If you dont want to root, then PDAnet can do it. But I hate anything install on my computer.

You can root and use the WIFI wireless. Better this way.

I use the hotspot that is built in, but I just would like to point out a tethered PDANET advantage...and that is CONSTANT charging.

pdanet works, but you can't access any secured websites (ie https:// ) with the free version. You can try klink. It is the cheapest option and can add the purchase to your bill.
