Advise Help Please

I have placed this same post in the root section but going on day 3 and yet no one has replied. Please forgive me for bringing it here but i desperatly seek an answer dont want to brick my phone.
***I have HBOOT 2.10 haven't done [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]gingerbread[/COLOR][/COLOR] yet. Can i still root ? If i can which method should i use. The HBOOT 2.02 or ? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
