Hmmm.....good to know. I wonder why these developers keep failing with security especially since its a big deal with everything else.

Re: EVO pulled from official Netflix compatibility?!

Use splashtop to view Netflix and any other streaming video/audio player from your home computer. It is like a remote desktop app, but on steroids. I hate to offer a paid app (99 cents) but it is cheap and one heck of a remote desktop app for Windows or Mac. The streaming capability is impressive as hell. There is an android client and iPhone, Ipad.

Re: EVO pulled from official Netflix compatibility?!

Same thing...I actually found out that Netflix officially announced problems not with Gingerbread but the update to Sense 2.1 from 2.0...this is why I have not updated yet either. I was running CM7 Gingerbread and it worked then. But the problem I had with it was I could not do BT file transfer and a few other little things. So I went back to Sprint Lovers ROM. I had to go to Sprint today to get an extended battery for my EVO and the guy asked if I had updated yet. I told him no and I was not planning on doing it until Netflix fixed the compatibility issue. LOL I would rather run Froyo and have my Netflix so I can save my iPod for music!

HTC EVO 4G update plays nice with Netflix

By Edwin Kee - 06/16/2011 00:10 PDT

If you happen to be in possession of the HTC EVO 4G, surely you were pleased as punch to obtain the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the device, but unfortunately for us, the update did not work as well as intended since it gimped the ability for the handset to support streaming both movies and TV shows from the Netflix app on the Android Market. Doesn’t sound as though the world would end, yes, but that does not absolve the responsibility of the update for such a snafu. After all, ever since the Netflix app for the Android platform was launched, it has gained its fair share of followers who loved killing time by catching a movie on the handset when possible.
Netflix not working any more is one problem, the other would be issues that plague the visual voicemail as well as the Hearing Aid compatibility menu. The latter saw some menu options disappear, raising even more questions than delivering answers. Kudos to HTC for understanding the kind of frustration that such issues could cause, which is why the HTC EVO 4G will be receiving an OTA (Over The Air) update which ought to see the last of such issues. Monday can’t come fast enough for EVO 4G owners, no?
