Well..........3266 x 2450 is an 8mp resolution according to google.......and 3648 x 2739 for 10mp! That's good enough to get 12" in width and 10" in height for a high resolution photo....which is about the print size "Letter"......which is about the same size as a regular piece of writing paper. I don't print photos or anything like that......mines are all digital.....meaning I just keep them on storage devices.....but how does Sharp come out with a phone that has a single core SoC with an Adreno 205 and has 2 8mp cameras on the back for taking 3D pictures and 3D 1080p video......but the Evo 3D has a dual core SoC with an Adreno 220 and only has 2 5mp cameras on the back?!
I'm thankful for the phone but COME ON!!!!!

I really haven't read up on different camera sensors...so I'm kind of stuck on that one.....but you know how HTC is when it comes to cameras!!

Guys, megapixels aren't everything. If you keep the sensor the same size and increase the density (from 5mp to 8mp) you're going to get higher resolution, but also significantly more noise, which requires resources to process and remove. This will lead to decreased battery life (noise removal takes a lot of processing) and ultimately lower picture quality. I'd rather have a smaller, but higher quality picture.

And with OMJ making roms for it.....OMFG!!!!!

I just wish this phone had like.........an 8mp camera on the back instead of 2 5mp....I really don't care for the 3D factor but that will be an added bonus for me getting it...and the MSM8660 can support up to 12mp (I think).........so I would have preferred maybe 10mp rear facing and 2 front facing.

Adreno 220 is gonna blow minds (not in that Pamela Anderson way either).............and with the MHL.........let me stop talking.
Hey - what is MHL? yes I did google it.
Thanks

WHAT.....ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME.........okay...I'll tell you!

It stand for "M"obile "H"igh-Definition "L"ink.......and its the best thing you can put in a smartphone! I thought the Motorola Atrix had the game on lock with that laptop mount you can put your phone in and use it as a standard laptop......but MHL is a lot better than that garbage!

MHL uses a special USB cable (hopefully HTC will bundle it with the phone...if not than I'll just buy one) that has a micro USB side that attaches to the phone....and an HDMI on the other side that can hook up to just about any television or monitor that has an HDMI connection. One of the best things about it is that while your phone is hooked up to the T.V. your phone charges. Not only that but you get the full T.V. out experience....not like the Touch Pro 2 where only some of the apps asnd programs show up.......so EVERYTHING you can do on your phone you see on the television.

Just as an added bonus if you have 3D content on your phone and you have it hooked up to a 3D television you can see everything in 3D...just as it is on the phone!

I have a beast of a computer already and its packed with tech specs......but when I get this phone I might not even use it like that anymore.....just connect the Evo 3D to wifi, hook it up to my 3D HD OLED T.V. (55") and I'm good to go!

Sidebar....it also has DLNA.....meaning you can also stream video and audio from the phone to a DLNA certified device!

Re: 3D Rom Leak....One Step Closer To 3.0 on 4G?

umm..I don't think it works that way..the MHL port is a hybrid port similar to those esata/usb ports you find on laptops...the MHL port accepts usb and MHL wires..for you to take advantage of the charging while streaming you must connect it to another MHL port...I found no indication so far claiming that you can plug it into an HDMI port and charge...

And there is gonna be no 55" OLED 3d till 2012 :/..and will prob cost 30,000$ like that 31" 3d oled tv..

Correct. The MHL port must be connected to an MHL tv/receiver/etc in order to get any of the MHL features. Since no tv/receiver/etc that supports MHL has been made yet, it's safe to assume that nobody has one.

So this will end up being a USB port that works the same as our previous USB ports for charging and connecting to a computer. And you will also be able to buy a cable that has micro USB on 1 end to connect to the phone, and HDMI on the other to connect to a tv. It will probably still mirror the device on HDMI out, but it won't charge the device, and it won't let you control the device with the tv remote control.

And I don't know about a 55 inch OLED tv existing or not, or what it will cost, but I do know that no tv has been made that supports MHL. So your current 3D tv will not charge this phone via HDMI.

Another way for me to take advantage of the charging factor is to get a MHL-HDMI adapter.....allows for charging on devices that is plugged up to a non-MHL (regular HDMI port) compatible HDTV! Gigaware makes them!

Also......I have an 55" OLED 3D Samsung Smart T.V. that I've had since January.....and I paid no where near $30,000 for it! Its not glasses free though.....as no 3D T.V. I know of right now is! It also has an Intel Atom in it....according to the sticker thingy on the side.

And again.......the adapter will hopefully solve the charging problem without the need for buying a whole-nother HDTV! Also.....I never said anything about controlling the device with the T.V.'s remote control.....that's seems kind of lame anyway....like a Nintendo Wii or something like that.

By the way gTen........plasma's WERE the only HDTV that cost as much as a brand new 2011 Lexus when first released because people were/are stupid enough to pay tens of thousands of dollars for hardware that probably cost the makers a couple thousand. Even the 80" Sony LED HDTV's that came out back in 2009 only cost $5000 when they were first released...I would have easily took one of those over a whack @$$ 60" plasma T.V. that has a blurry picture all the time.
