I personally believe that they'll keep wimax around even when they do switch over to LTE as you'll have people that will still have phones that will use wimax, they are not going to just stop wimax it will be phased out I believe, don't worry you have a long time before all this will happen.

well its good news if light-squared lives trough the "interference with GPS thing"..if light-squared can't do that or takes too long to get it resolved it can end disastrous for sprint :/

agreed. Sprint always seems to live on the edge of disaster :)

I read that the Galaxy 2 (Within) may have both Wimax and LTE radios. IF so, and they can roll that phone out before the 30 days is up for the Evo 3D, then I will be switching to Samsung!

I had a chance to play with my first Verizon Thunderbolt a few days ago here in Tampa FL. I personally have never gotten over 10 MBS Download and 1 MBS Upload with my Evo 4G. The Thunderbolt using the same exact test server, which in my opinion I use Speak Easy Speed Test which has always been the most accurate/reliable for me got a Whopping 19.88 MBS Download speed and 2.76 MBS Upload. So I do hope $print makes the wise decision of switching from Wimax to LTE. Only thing that sucks for me is obviously I'll have to pay for the upgrade but lord have mercy will it be worth it.

To clarify..that is not an indication of speed of LTE vs wimax...wimax is capable of faster speed..it more has to do with how sprint implements wimax, how much spectrum sprint uses, that sprint deploy in 2.5ghz band and verizon in 700mhz, how congested the networks 4g is...and the fact that sprint caps you at 10mbps download.

Also things can have effect depending on the bandwidth provider for the tower and the test server.

For one I would like sprint to at least implement the 40% version of wimax-enchanced :/
