Re: HTCsense differences

I have the EVO and my wife the EVO shift... They are virtually identical... They have the same layout and widgets.
The other two are on Verizon and although I could tell you about them. I have Zero exposure to either.
I hope this helps.

Nahh...
I'm fairly new to Android and I hear it's a pain in the rear to root my hardware version of the EVO.
I run Stock ROM. It's stable and It gives me enough flexibility.
There are enough aps on the Android market to fill this thing up quickly. lol
I'm happy the way it is.

Re: HTCsense differences

Here are the main different versions of Sense that I have used on my phone.

Hero Sense = no live wallpapers, very basic.

Evo/Desire Sense - Introduction of live wallpapers, based on eclair, then froyo with tethering and other goodies.

Glacier Sense - based on MyTouch 4G, ability to have different wallpaper on lockscreen than home scree, change theme style, my favs at bottom right, new widgets

Desire HD/Incredible S "New Sense" - ability to completely change skin, new flip animation clock, new widgets, access to HTC Hub, more HTC widgets

Oh... One more difference... My wife's EVO Shift... It displays Sense in landscape when the keyboard is pulled out.
Pretty nicely too.

I have three EVOs in my house from the oldest to the newest Hardware version. I think it took me a total of 20 minutes to root them all. Custom ROMs make all the difference.

Longer battery life, Wifi tethering, and the fun of tailoring your enviroment to suit your desires.

Re: HTCsense differences

I hear ya... But the way Android changes... It's hard to keep up with the official releases.
Gingerbread is coming to EVO in the next couple of months.
How many Gingerbread ROMs are out there?

Besides. I don't have any issues. Not even Battery since juice defender and task killer were installed. Not to mention my desk charger at work, the one in my car and the one next to my bed. Oh... And the OLD TP2 charging my second battery I carry in my change pocket... JUST IN CASE. lol.
