Guess Gingerbread for EVO ain't

The EVO has to ne the first to get 2.4. Since it is the only android phone that is a company flagship, I can't see why not.

for what its worth when the htc rep came by our store she said it is in the works but no eta. she also said she could not denie or confirm an htc tab lol.

Um..other companies have flagships..Verizon has the droid, T-Mobile has mytouch, ATT has the Atrix (which was already seen running gingerbread)...LG Optimus is another on seen running Gingerbread but came out with 2.2...

Either way Samsung said they plan on releasing Gignerbread for i9000 in germany..if HTC plans to release it in Q2..thats at least April...Don't get me wrong..it'll probably get Gingerbread before the Epic ofr example..but I doubt it'll beat the i9000 to it...

ginger is already been ported over to the evo 4g check out cyanogen 2.3 they some of that over at xda they have betas and initial releases!!

It would be safe to say the the iPhone is the flagship for both ATT and Verizon....even if sales aren't reflecting it. Non the less my fingers ate crossed

Nah..iphones aren't much work for the carrier..and Verizon is not going to abandon the 100 million in advertising they spent on the Droids..unlike sprint they can actually maintain multiple flagships...I mean everyone who wants an iphone gets one, and those that dont get the Droid..aka they got all bases covered.

ATT said they are going to focus on Android more...I doubt Atrix is going to be a continues brand but its definitely their flagship..they said it before..so I am guessing ATT is going to release flagship android Q1 and Q4 and Q2-3 they are going have iphone as flagship.

I just wish one of the "roms" that have gingerbread would work exactly like the phone did when shipped. That means ,front camera, video cam , and sense. I figure that once a rom for a "sense" Htc phone is released with all the EVO stuff then someone will make an EVO rom where everything WORKS.

Have you seen the videos of the EVO 3D? It has 2.3 OS on it. I think a version similar to this will drop for the EVO 4G from Sprint. I'm gonna wait a little while longer b4 i root my phone and install a different Rom. I hope the new Rom will remove the EVO's frame per second cap of 30 when other Roms do 60fps.
