I guess if you buy one of those "Green" phones you don't have to pay the $10 "Premium Data" fee..................makes me wonder why Sprint charges us the extra $10 a month.....on top of the $4.99 Spending Limit "fee"........and on top of that...they still send me a paper bill in the mail every month?!

The $10 for green phone is just a marketing gimmick. Either way Sprint wins. The 4.99 spending limit is due to your credit. I used to have it also. You can probably call them if you have had Sprint for a year at least and have made payments on time and get it taken off. As for the paper billing, you can change that also. Sometimes they will give you $5 credit for first time you switch to paperless billing.

The spending limit fee is only for those who don't have autopay on their account...and also you can whine and have them remove the spending limit too..

yes green phones dont pay $10 fee..why does spritn charge it to you? cause companies love money? lol..but at same time it "helps" them not turn into tiered data..so I am kinda split on it..

Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

I was thinking more on a "Green" level........buy a "Green" phone that nobody wants and "help" the environment....so while nobody's buying the phone....they still make us pay for useless services (4G still not available in my area/state).....which is extra money being spent....so now the "Green" just got cancelled out by me using more paper dollars....for no reason at all.....on top of them sending me paper bills every month that I don't even look at...they go straight in the garbage. First Clearwire......than LightSquared.......big waste of money in my opinion when Verizon has LTE all over the state I live in.....and Sprint is barely scratching the surface...AND its FASTER than Sprint's! Still wondering though............................................ .....................well......one more week till that Epic 4G Touch hits the streets!

From my view..every company that sprint put into went under...Clearwire, Palm, etc....Lightsquare is awesome but by time its implemented Sprint may end up being a lame duck...

As for the green phone...its "ok"..spec wise its close to the LG Optimus...and it has a solar panel for charging which is neat(dont know how good it is though)..its obviously no Evo but its "ok" for a basic smartphone..or people who like blackberry form like phones..

Funny....I never heard of LightSquared up until they talked about Sprint giving them BILLIONS of dollars. With that being said the same goes to ClearWire for me. Instead of buying parts of ClearWire and Lightsquared....why didn't Sprint just use those BILLIONS of dollars upgrading their 3G service?! From what I think T-Mobile is still on 3.5G while everyone else is on 4G (except for Sprint, LOL).....and T-Mobile can reach speeds up to 40mb/s! Sprint could have spent those BILLIONS doing the same thing......I would have been happy with that....it would have justified the extra $10 fee.

And why in the UNIVERSE would a company boast about having 4G "FIRST"......just so over a year can pass and only have a couple more cities added to their radar for 4G service.......just so the other companies can come out with their 4G service a year later and start off covering more of the U.S. than them?!?!?!?! I really don't know about AT&T but Verizon has 4G in my state and its pretty fast right about now.....can't say what it'll be a couple years from now buts it damn sure is fast right now! Sprint has 4G in a NEIGHBORING STATE to the one I live in......which is about 400 miles away....and I'm still wondering.....scratching my head like this little yellow guy in the previous sentence!

The only thing I can say to that is "WOW!"

Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

sorry if this is the wrong thread, but someoen i know is selling an evo 4g for 150, somewhat used..i was wondering if you guys think thats a good price for it. im assuming she found it. she said its locked( i think she ment it needs a password) but a hard reset will help that..

should i try it?? and would i be able to use it as my regular phone?

and i currently have a tp2 so..would they, meaning, sprint charge me 10 dollars for the 4g..or would they not know?

If it's locked with a password then I would not buy it. There may be a way to unlock it but it may be blacklisted by Sprint. What is the reason this person is selling it? Is the reason cause it's locked? That's not a valid reason for getting rid of a phone. I would be wary. You can find plenty of evos online that are rooted and come with accessories.
