Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

The Evo has to be the best phone I ever owned....just for the fact that the phone I had before it was a Touch Pro 2. Everyone has a hand in the "right answer" to the OP's question.....but in the end it's all about who you are and what you like! My situation went like this:

Got the Evo and was proud of it. My only complaint was the keyboard until I got Swype...not I don't care for a keyboard at all! I was very amazed at the performance of the Evo and was really hyped up because of everyone praising it>
>Soon afterwards (VERY SOON afterwards) Samsung announced the Epic......now I'm pissed because my 30 days ran out and I was too "in love" with my Evo to even look at anything else......so I stuck with my Evo>
>Countless hours of rooting and flashing my Evo lead me to not be pissed and fall "in love" with it again. Okay.....now fast forward to now>
>Heard about the Evo 3D and was excited>
>Heard about the Galaxy S2 and was excited>
>Heard about the "Next Nexus" and was kind of excited...because everything was speculation at that point>
>Heard about an Epic 2 but was kind of excited........because everything was speculation at that point>
>Heard that Samsung was making the "Next Nexus" and was overwhelmed.......but still knew it was speculation>
>Heard of the Motorola Photon and was excited to see a Tegra 2 phone on Sprint....but came back to reality and noticed that its Motorola>
>Heard about the specs for the "Next Nexus" and almost defecated on myself>
>Heard the "Next Nexus" is gonna be on Verizon and got kind of worried about it>
>Heard they were changing the name to "Droid Prime" instead of "Nexus Prime" and got disappointed>
>Heard the "DROID PRIME" is only gonna have a 5 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA and lost all hope>
>Heard about a rumored LG phone to have the Tegra 3 to come out by the end of this year and got excited......but seeing that its still speculation I got less excited>
>Heard MORE about the Galaxy S2 (now the Samsung Epic 4G Touch) and was VERY excited>
>Heard about the Samsung Galaxy Note and now I really...REALLY don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want the Epic 4G Touch SO BAD.........but what if the Galaxy Note comes out RIGHT AFTER it?! I just might have to get both than....right?!

Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

its going to take a lot to make me want to switch phones... like a phone that can do something more. i thought about the 3d, but i really think 3d's such a gimmick, and i know i won't use it, and i don't want to buy it and reward them with a sale for something so stupid. i was using it in the store and it gave me a serious headache.

i'm trying to think right now if there's any real feature that would make me want to switch. i really want a hard camera button, and a power button that's not broken. i think that my phone would have to seriously fall apart some more before i got something new, so i guess in reality, if the phone lasts i'll stay with it. i think this is because of the touch pro, i had a phone that never worked and now that i have one i'm actually kinda happy with it. had the tp never been so terrible, i probably would be rocking the 3d by now.

Thanks for this post. You really captured the essence of why we are all such knucklehead diehards and the fact that no matter what we get, there's something on the horizon that's better. Chucked a thanks on the post because I can now cancel my ppc group therapy session for today. This post helped! LOL

I've had my EVO longer than I've had any other phone. I still like it a lot and I'm still waiting for something else.

Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

they come out with a phone that doesn't have 4g, but does everything else better than the evo i would totally get it. i'm so sick of 4g. i'm never going to use it on the evo, but i've already given sprint 150 bucks or so, for no apparent reason. its retarded. thats why i'm rooted, thats why i tether. at least i'm getting some of the money back, kinda lol... but yeah, there's always something ahead, and when they come out with something absolutely better, then i'll go for it. until then, as long as the phone stays in however many pieces its in right now, i'll keep it.

It wouldn't matter as $10 fee is on all smartphones now...not just 4g phones..unless they release a "green phone" with better specs..those don't carry the premium data requirement...

Re: Any1 else tired of their HTC EVO?

oh really? well when the evo first came out, the 10 dollar fee was only for 4g, i don't know about now. but yeah, i would totally "downgrade" if it meant not paying more money for service i am never going to see.
