My phone keeps getting texts from the future

I will be having a regular text convo then poof at 9:01pm someone will send me a text and it will hit with the time code 9:05pm so I either have to wait til 9:06pm or when I send them a text my new text (from the past) at 9:02pm will pop in above their 9:05pm text.

Any idea why this has started to happen recently?

It's not localized to specific people, and seems to happen at random times. Is there an easy fix, or is my phone a temporal device that knows I don't like waiting for text replies so it starts scanning into the future for that upcoming reply?

If it is the temporal explanation I am find to leave well enough alone... for now.

Are you using a custom or stock ROM? Have you tried a reboot? Updating PRL? Can you give me tomorrow's Power Ball numbers?

I started using Handcent because of this. I believe it's caused by incorrect timestamps from the tower. Handcent orders texts one after another, not by timestamp like the default messaging app does.

Stock, idk what prl is, and the scanning the time line only seems to go 5-10 mins into the future so no, but will try some bar bets on some plays at the super bowl while texting a friend about the game and see how that goes.

Will search and see what handcent is. My assumption is that it's an app.

That only happens to me when I'm have really bad service, like in a big corporate building, I'll get texts 4 or 5 hours ahead, but mine are when i actually send them. Once i get good service it starts working fine

My friend on sprint is having the same issue. I guess they have issues with the timestamp.

I'm experiencing the same thing; rooted, but stock ROM. I chock it up to Sprint service.
