i downloaded the rom from there but its a .exe ?
i ran it connected the evo & it didnt find it under sync mode ?

From what I have read from your original post is that you have downgraded the wimax and radio? If you reflash and update. Make sure everything is updated even your prl and pri. And then redo the steps.

im guessing that you did not do a nandroid back up of your earlier rom with the working 4g. Ive read that its better to use the amon ra recovery as oppossed to clockwork mod recovery being that amon ra also backs up the wimax rsa encryption keys and cw mod does not.

edit:i just read that nandroid backups(made in RA,at least) are backwards compatible. So if you made a backup on 1 .8.0 ,then upgraded to 2.2.1, the backups would still work unless you upgraded your hboot version since that backup was done.

edit,edit: I found a cool app on the market called Wimax Keys Checker that checks to see if your key's are intact...must be rooted : )

Your going to have to check you wimax keys and see if it is there and also matches with you phone. Here is the step to do that (use terminal emulator) is your wimax keys are not there and you didn't do a backup after rooting your phone then your SOL...=(

ok i did that & my version showed up like in step number 5 on there.
but how do i compare that number to the one on the phone ?
would it be the one on the phone underneath the battery ?

idk yet but i think im just gonna wait it out. & wait for a new radio update.

I try to stay as far from Myn's rom's as possible because of this exact reason. Flashed his 2nd release and his 3rd release and they both completely fked my 4G up.

What fixed it for me was flashing Sprint lover's rom and the all in one radio update, updated profile and prl and all was good. Currently using MikFroyo's rom with no 4G issues and have used Azreals (I think that was the name) and the 4G on that worked fine as well.

I recently flashed MikFroyo's rom and have 4g working in my city, Corpus Christi, texas. This past weekend I went to NYC and could only get 'connecting to sprint'...'obtaining ip addres'..then disconnect and scanning.. OVER AND OVER again. the same thing all over Manhatten..at BWI airport and the Houston Hobby airport. but once i got back to CC tx, all was working again. not sure what the problem was..

I had the same issue and I lost my 4G I try different methods of restoring it but none would work. Last resort was to un-root the phone and take it back to sprint and they replaced it with no problems.

Had the same problem with another Rom and flashed the all in one radio update over at XDA and that did the trick for me as well with the update profile and prl.

In the future I would ALWAYS do a nandroid backup before flashing anything once you get everything working 100% and your Evo is stable. This way you can always revert back should you have issues. I am sure your aware of this now lol... but yeah its always a good habbit to backup first.

Its not roms that are messing up your 4G, its the radio and Wimax updates. There was an all in one update that was hosing 4G floating around. Sound like a bunch of crybabies blaming a rom. You obviously haven't extracted a rom yet to see that it does not contain any radios of any kind.

While what you're saying is absolutely true. It doesn't change the fact that 2 of Myn's releases have made my phone unable to connect to 4G on two seperate occasions, while other roms have never brought about this issue.
