That Reverting back will always appear in the procedure in various places while the hackers are working on the new version. You have to read these procedures frontwards, then backwards then sideways.

Then again, just OTA and run the latest UnRevoked

thats the route im going as we speak...just got the 1.47 update...now getting froyo...will then run latest unrevoked. thanks

How'd you get so far behind? You just wake up out of a coma? If you left your phone as it was, you would have qulified for antique plates.

You could probably go to HTC, download
RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15. 00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed

and install it from your PC. That will put you with the living.

After that, run the Latest Unrevoked and you will be good to go. Ask questioins along the way and we will get you there.

Too funny man, and thanks....Yea i'm never been this far behind with any of my previous phones. I was away from here for a while, that was my issue. I've never been a rom flasher and i moved and ended up with no Internet. So i needed the wireless tether to work.

So once i got the new evo's and had SU permission that was all i needed at that point.When I saw that the first ota patched the exploit the OG unrevoked was using, i never bothered with anything after that because i couldn't risk losing wireless tether.

So i took the OTA's via phone-software update, and i found that temp root Z4root mod was all i needed.
No i don't have nand unlock or a custom recovery, but i have SU permission and that's really all i need. So i'm finally at 2.2 BB ver.2.15.00.07.28 kernal 2.6.32.15-g746f4f0 software and build # 3.26.651.6 CL218634 RK's..PRI 1.40_003 PRL 60674. That's pretty much good enough for me at this point. Since i've never flashed rom's and these evo's will soon be a year old i just don't really need nand unlock or a custom recovery. With Z4root i can have SU in about 30 seconds and be back to stock with a soft reset.

And i didn't wipe anything before the update so i ended up with all my contacts/photos/apps/vids/settings intact.Perfect. Only had a few issues, Market disappeared(dl'd vending.apk from here).Added Z4root from XDA and updated my wireless tether app from link here. Everything (using wifi) took a total of approx. 20 mins.(both updates and adding all apks) Thanks to all for your advice and help(and for not dismissing a "regular geek" for being so far behind and asking such noobish questions).

As long as you are happy.

If you have a change of heart, I recommend you going all the way. People that otherwise couldn't figure out velcro are now able to root EVOs. Do the Unrevoked thing and you'll be beating chicks off with a stick.
Then I recommend you flash Sprint Lover's or Azreal. Both have Wifi tether built in but otherwise are nearly stock. Sprint Lover's always wraps up the radio in his "all in one" release.

I most likely will go "all the way" sooner or later. I've been using shadowmite's work since way back when he was jailbreaking treo 600's. Thanks again though for the advice, I appreciate it. Quick question. I'm at BB 3.26 and i see the latest update is 3.70. Do you know if there are any major radio changes between the 2 updates? And do you know how many ota's there are from 3.26 and 3.70?
