Actually, HTC #15 is the newest kernel and was the one included in the 3.70 software update. Why they are out of numerical order who knows, but the #15 kernel is the newest one.

You need to understand versioning for sw. It is not a decimal but a separator.

I just rooted my evo for the 1st time.(thanx again to those that help me out)

and this was the 1st thing i wanted to flash.

Does it flash the same as you would flash a custom rom?

Yes, use recovery to flash it, wipe the dlavik & system cache first, but you do not need to wipe the data cache. That way all your installed programs and settings won't be affected.
