Re: New Kernel/Superior Battery Life

I cant believe because of 8 unsubstantiated claims of battery failure and this kernel, they are now gone. I loved this thing. Lets say those 8 are telling the truth and their word is worth more than gold...who cares. 8 people out of (a very low estimate of) 100 people is still a 92% success rate...which it is so much higher than that because the number is probably more like 1000 people who used it with 8 "claims" of failure.

Re: New Kernel/Superior Battery Life

It the Toyato (stuck gas peddal). After the gazillion claims and their stock tanking, only the initial claim was substantiated and it was a stuck floor mat under the peddal. Hundreds were scams and the reast were hysteria.
Maybe the batteries were heating up due to Global Warming. I just saw Al Gore log in and download an SBC!

A lot of reading if u can handle a lot of flaming and bashing name calling whatever the case is check it out xda lol. But it really did suck reading thru all that. But these are great kernels just know the risk

So am I understanding right that the batteries are the main point of failure so far? Any permanent damage so far to an actual device?

I won't run thre trickle charge kernel but I am running v8 bump. I just don't trust keeping voltage to the battery all the time when plugged in and when I tried 131 and v7 and I was using my phone in car cradle and car charger, my phone got to over 110 degrees. with version 8 bump it starts stays at a normal temp.

Trickle charge was not the issue here. It would have been phone duty. What elevates your temperature IS the process of charging and discharging. If you are running a processor intense program like Navagator, you have a choice.
1. Run it without charging and have your battery deplete rapidly
2. Charge while running the app and place your phone in a process of discharge and charge.

The heat comes from two sources. I-squared-R losses and hysterises. Both are natural phenomena of battery chemistry.

Trickle charge comes into effect while your phone is largely sitting idle. If I remember correctly, it is kicked off once the battery potential hits a certain milli-volt setting which I am quite sure yours did at 100F. All trickle charge does is raise the lo-water mark for when the phone begins charging again. This is particularly valuable for LiPo batteries that are better off when staying at the high voltage mark.
