Re: [ Another Update ] Intermitent wake up problems? Please help!
Hey again TX, thanks as always for your continued support and kind words. I did try the last set of recommendations that you posted and for a day I didn't miss any calls but yesterday it happened again. I'm going to give neopanther a chance to help but if that doesn't do it then I guess I will go back to the well, as they say, at least one more time. I've asked more than once for an 0004 model but the answer is always the same : they can't guarantee I will get one because the warehouses there they ship from don't track to that level of detail what they have in stock. They seem to have a lot of 0003's on hand as that is what I've received 3 times now!

Re: [ Another Update ] Intermitent wake up problems? Please help!
[ SOLVED ] As I said long ago when I started this thread, I've worked in an IT department for over 15 years now and have been using computers and gadgets for nearly 30, and never has a problem vexed me quite so much as this one, but I finally solved it!!! The answer, hard to believe, was...my leather case. Yep, I guess the magnet was too strong on my case and when the screen would rub up against it weirdness followed. I've used such casees with touchscreen devices for years and never had a problem, so either the EVO is especially susceptible to this problem or the case I had was made by the devil, who knows. Hopefully anybody else suffering the same problem will stumble upon this answer some day and it will save them a lot of trouble! Thanks to all contributed for their time.

Re: [ SOLVED ] Intermitent wake up problems? Please help!
kkryter, I got your pm. I'm glad you where able to figure this out. I remember when I had the Touch Pro 2 and I had a leather holster with a magnetic flap that caused the screen to act up also. Who would have thought?
But I will say this. My first EVO had this exact same issue and I had never used a magnetic holster or exposed my phone to any form of magnets. Yet it still would occasionally not respond to touch when trying to answer a phone call or when swiping to unlock the phone. I'm pretty sure magnets can cause this type of problem but I still feel there was something else going on with my first 0003 EVO. Thanks for the update. I did read your last post long before now BTW. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. |
