Re: Call from HTC about a returned Evo...

I am seeing usually 6+ down in Chicago, but this is what they are calling 4G.. Until we get near 100 i don't know how they can call it 4G

But i still stand that this is hands down the best phone, and the only thing wrong with it is battery life..

Sorry, got off topic, HTC does seem to be putting more into support/relations now. I have now gotten a return email and phone call, which I never saw before... Hopefully they keep them going...

Re: Call from HTC about a returned Evo...

I'm using CM6 right now, so no 4G for me, but I average 6-7 mb/s down when using a Sense rom. I've even seen speeds of over 10 mb/s if I go to the top floor of my office building, which has a nice line of sight with the closest Sprint tower. At my desk, the 4G speeds are 1.5 mb/s, but it has to go through a couple of load bearing walls, which are probably steel concrete, and rebar. But 4G is just like 3G....location location location. You live far from the tower, or are in a bunker, your speeds will suck. I would hardly call an emerging technology a failure. Where I live and work, 4G has gotten nothing but stronger and faster.

Maybe a mod should change the name of this thread to something like "Post your 4g Speeds"

Re: Call from HTC about a returned Evo...

Since no one seems to care about HTC saying Gingerbread is coming 1st quarter of 2011 I just might as well join in. My 4g speeds suck i'm only getting about 3.47 download and .31 upload

Re: Call from HTC about a returned Evo...

I care... but I will believe it when I see it.

What changes will gingerbread bring to the evo? i was hoping for integrated video chat made by Google but I don't think that's gonna happen. I gotta admit my cousins face time on his iPhone is way better than fring qik and tango... come Google help us fight for you.

Don't see Ginerbread making 4G better. It is a pretty crappy bandwidth from the get-go. Only way to make it better is more towers closer together.
