Phone Contacts Not Syncing, why?

Why aren't my contacts syncing with my Google account? Only contacts that sync are the ones that are in my GMail contacts. But I want to sync all my contacts to my GMail.

get an app that saves your contacts to CSV on the sd card many contact backup apps do that... import the csv contacts file to your gmail contacts from a computer.... this will add them to your google account. then go to the top of your contacts and do the remove duplicates/Merge...

You will only have to do this once then from that point on make sure you save your new contacts to google not phone. Phone contacts will not sync with your google account.

After you do that and they are in your google contacts they will sync up and bring them down as soon as you sign into your google account say after switching roms...

While in the contacts you can add pictures as well when they sync to your phone it will update with the pic.

If they are contacts your adding to your phone and want synced with Gmail then make sure you make them a Google Contact when you set them up on your phone. Had the same issue initially until I started doing that.

Go to People>Menu>View Make sure Google and Show auto Gmail contacts is checked and then in Account @ Sync Auto-Sync to sync with Google.

I mean I knew about those options and don't really a backup contacts as if you go to your "People" contacts app, and press Menu, it will give you the option so save the contacts to a CSV file. But I wanted to sync my contacts without doing that. Its alright, thanks for trying to help everyone ;].

open people, hit menu, go to view and uncheck google

hit menu again and import/export and do exprot to sd card

now go back to view and uncheck phone and check google

import/export again and do import from sd card

phone contacts does not sync with google so save contacts to ur google account all the time

just uncheck phone would make it better for u
