USB Plug-Cord

Friday I turned my Evo to Klaxon (Alarm Clock) beside my bed while I watched game 6 ALCS and I reached for my glass and phone fell about 10 inches on corner stand. First thing I noticed phone was no longer charging. Today I tried on computer and phone does not show up under any setting. I do not see any prongs bent. Anyone have this happen phone pull on cord and falling. I think the cord is pretty cheaply made.

Re: USB Plug-Cord

Same here, first thing i noticed today is when i plugged into charger in car, it went into (car panel app). Then later when making calls the speaker phone comes on. Then tonight i went to hook to computer to sync, and nothing happens except charge light. phone charges but wont pop up the screen that asks for htc sync, charge only, or disk drive.

Same thing happens to me on two USB ports, but on the one remaining it works fine. My OEM cord is crappy at best, I have had the phone fall off my nightstand and from then on I have to bend the cord and stick the cord under my phone to get it to charge.

The one I got off ebay, used to work, now it doesn't bring up the Charge/disk drive/usb tether screen

Re: USB Plug-Cord

My OEM cord would charge but nothing else so I picked up 4 of these for $10 + change (including shipping). Much better quality than the HTC cables.
For only $1.16 each when QTY 50+ purchased - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core - (Gold Plated) - 6ft | USB 2.0 Cables - Micro-B Type

Re: USB Plug-Cord

Thanks will give them a try. Should be cord phone hit nothing. I have seen many molded plug go bad on other devices doing electrical work.

I am on OMJ 3.5 ,what recovery did you use to wipe? Clockworkmod sometimes leaves things behind. If you used RA Recovery may need to just factory reset.

The process of trouble-shooting is eliminating unknowns. I would test with a cord you know is good, restore a stock RUU. You may have some pins shorted that makes your unit think is is plugged in a doc but you should remove other variables first.
