flashing rom question

ok so I rooted my phone with unrevoked, this is a full root as far as everything shows… So here's the question, do I just backup nandroid, then go into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, then go to advanced wipe Dalvik cache, then install zip and I should be good to go?

ok I'm gonna try fresh first… we will see what happens...
