An easier way would be to:
1) Hit ##786#
2) Enter your msl
3) Then press menu reset. Some say you should reboot in recovery and then clear, cache, and dalvik cache. then let your phone go though the set up process. should put you back to your stock pri.

did this method and took me back to 1.40_003. Took a few tries but it worked. Then did a restore to get everything back.

Tried yesterday and it put me back at 1.34. Guess it may vary, but glad it worked for ya.

My phone came with 1.40 and never changed when I rooted it. I thought it would have dropped to 1.34.

I am on 1.34. I went to an appointment yesterday, I had to wait hours. I did this for 5 attempts, and it never updated to 1.4. I guess results may vary.

Thanks though.. I wish there was a recovery flash for 1.4

Re: New Pri 1.77

wow nice! I just updated from 1.34 and pretty much doubled my 4G speeds at work and home. Now getting 7mbps+, whereas I was getting 3-3.5 at best with 1.34

Re: New Pri 1.77

So what's the problem with 1.77 again? Is it the OTA download or a flash version someone cooked up that's giving people headaches? Why would it cause issues on some devices on not others? It's re-coding the internals and would have no effect on or from individual apps, personalization, etc.

Unless the people having problems are rooted...
