3G EVO users vs 4G EVO users data limit

Am I over analyzing this chart (please see link below) or does it imply that 4G users have unlimited data use while 3G users of an EVO are (technically) still limited to 5GB. I say technically because we all know that Sprint doesn't always enforce this rule. Still if I remember correctly one of the justifications for the $10 premium added to the price was because all EVO users would have "true" unlimited data.

Must be unlimited 3G. My wife and I routinely pull 6-8 gb per phone a month and not a peep from Sprint.

Yes. No doubt that Sprint seldom enforce the 5GB rule but the question is what does the chart imply. Does it show that technically only 4G users are unlimited?

yeah mine says unlimited on my plan and i have deff went over 5gb with just 3g (4g not in area)

the 5gb cap usually is for tethering

OK. Yes. 5GB cap for tethering...but "according to the chart" is that cap only for 3G users. Please look at the chart from the link.

here a snippet of my bill .. 5248800 is 5GB i went over that on 3g only and didnt get charged

i may depend from plan to plan though .. i just got this plan in june or july

If I remember correctly, I was talking to a sprint store person about this exact thing his quote "Phones are not part of that limit". He stated that the limit was for the broadband Modem services. But that was a while ago that I had talked to them.

I have been using at least 8-9 GBs of data every month since I got my Evo, most of which has been on 3G and have had zero issues. So either way, I wouldn't worry about it and if they do give you shit start asking why you are paying them a $10 premium for "unlimited" data if there is clearly a cap
