Fluctuating Signal Bars?

Anyone elses signal bars drop to nothing and then back up once in a while?

I saw someone mention this before, but couldn't find it through search.

I am running stock non-root w/OTA 2.2 xx.6 - I don't recall noticing this before.

Re: Fluctuating Signal Bars?

You may be between 2 towers or more and it's not connecting to one or the other. Try going in and updating your PRL and profile if you can. This will give your phone the necessary info to connect to the towers. Weather and trees can cause issues too.

Re: Fluctuating Signal Bars?

I had this issue as well. I'm in an area where I usually get full service but a couple of weeks ago it started going from 0 service to full service intermittently all day long. It lasted for about a week and I finally called Sprint but ofcourse they were clueless and said to call back the next day. Haven't had the issue since so I have no clue what was causing it. I already had the most up to date PRL and all of that good stuff. I also have stock 2.2 and am not rooted or anything like that either.

Re: Fluctuating Signal Bars?

It could be a number of things. Sprint could be working on that tower or your phone could be switching from one toware to another and then back and so on. Are you having reception issues? Personaly I dont notice this my phone is pretty spot on. I have issues in one spot where I am located and its only in that one spot. Its a garanteed spot lol. When I am laying in bed I alway have the same signal strenth showing aprox -88 give or take about 5dm there either way. If you arnt getting issues with reception then Id say you are just staring at your bars to much. Those those bars are allways being updated with signal strenght. If the towar gets over loaded it could bounce you to another close one there is so many things going on.

ORRRR.. does this only happen when you hold the phone in yor left hand. I heard thats an issue
