Battery or Charger Issues?

I have a NEW issue. Over the last several days or so, and not all the time, I will take my off the charger, it will show fully charged, but in less than an hour of NO USE, it will get a warning that I have less than 10% battery. I have tried to charge it off my pc and from the wall. As I said, it is not every time just now and then.

I have ruled out the cable, I have also used my wifes from her Pre. Any one have any ideas?

Re: Battery or Charger Issues?

any apps running in the background that are draining the battery? try spare parts app from the market to help find out whats draining your battery.

most times even if you take the phone off the charger, it'll drop 10% w/ the first few minutes because ppl charge it overnight, but as soon as it gets to 100% its stops charging and starts running off the battery for some reason.

Re: Battery or Charger Issues?

I see you have TP2 listed in your profile. Have you tried swapping batteries, to see if the TP2 battery lasts longer than your Evo battery?

You may also want to wipe the battery stats. Start from a fully charged phone...If you are using Amon Ra, you will boot into recovery (with the phone off, hold vol down, and power), and (I'm going off memory here) select wipe, and battery stats.

Interesting, I have been struggling about finding out why my phone won't sleep. I went through great lengths. reformatting several times, installing one app at a time and checking. I have pretty much concluded the same thing, swype.

I did this long ago. I have had my Evo since release day.

I do not have swype, I am not rooted, I am running stock 2.2. This is something new.

Looking at the battery stuff, the up time is like 25:00:..
The Awake time is 04:00:....
No clue what that means? And I already got rid of the TP2

I think there may be more serious issues with your phone, my opinion would be to just take it to a sprint store. With every radio on and with everything running on the phone, it should still last well more than 1 hour, I mean seriously. Personally with insanely heavy usage with no down time what so ever I can get 3 to 4 hours out of the phone, so if its dying in less than 1 hour with it sitting there not being used then I don't think any of these tweaks will work.

Re: Battery or Charger Issues?

This is an issue, people asking what apps you're running are just not getting it apparently. It SHOULD be impossible to drain this battery with an Evo in an hour.

Yes there is an issue, get it checked out.
