Re: So is having the screen always on when connected to external power not possible ?

Found the answer...

This option's in a slightly obscure place: From your home screen, press your phone's "Menu" key, then select "Settings," "Applications," and "Development." There, you'll see an setting called "Stay Awake." Activating that option will prevent your display from timing out anytime the phone is running on nonbattery power.

I've noticed that the back-light is inconsistent as if it stays or not.

Anyone else has this issue?

Re: So is having the screen always on when connected to external power not possible ?

This seems to work http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.keyes.screebl.lite I'm not sure how this would affect the battery, since it polls on the phones orientation sensor.

BUT..... It's ridicules that there's no built in function that checks to see if it's plugged in and keep the back light on.

If someone finds an app that works on weather the phone is plugged in or not... please post here.

Re: So is having the screen always on when connected to external power not possible ?

Mine dims to the point of barely being able to see it when connected to ext. power and I have that setting checked.

I have noticed running any type of NAV software will keep the screen on full brightness when plugged in....

Re: So is having the screen always on when connected to external power not possible ?

Go to Market and download "Screen On" and search also for Screen On Widget...I use both....

Screen On allows you to configure the screen to stay on during specific applications

Screen On Widget allows you to toggle the screen to stay on indefinitely until you toggle it to off

But, yes, also, you do need to go to Menu/Settings/Applications/Development and toggle Stay Awake

Hope this helps

ummm... The screen doesn't go off. Whether or not that is an advantage is up to you.
