2.2/Kernal overwrite HALP.

Not trying to be the guy who didn't read a TON about this stuff, I just don't use my phone enough to care until now and i've left myself limited time to git'r done! Question. Running 2.2 OTA .6 update on a phone that's not rooted. I get the rooted process and all...just want to know how to get kernal over written so I can use Tethering.

Or do I have to? In basic let me know what needs to be done. I'm smarter than the avg bear with this stuff, just want to know the steps.


Root/kernal/tether? or what? THanks in advance.
