Or instead of doing that, you can just use a camera replacement app (FXCamera, Camera360). That way you can switch between all of the resolutions.

using fresh rom as well

Does fresh come with stock htc kernel? Did you make sure before flashing netarchy kernel that in setting resolution was set to 8mp.I've done these steps at least 7 times and it has always worked.

Hi gmaine02, does the netarchy kernel effect the camcorder? are you still able to do 720p resolution? thanks!

edit: I tried it and 720 appears to be working no issues. also 8mb pics even though it's saying 3mb. Thanks.

Rager02 08-08-2010 07:43 PM

Just tried it as well.don't use camcorder much 15 sec video was around 17mb and the 720p setting is visible in settings unlike 8mp.all is good.

Re: How to keep 8mp cam with netarchy's kernel

Hey gmaine -

I was pretty careful to follow your instructions, but fo whatever reason I ended up stuck at 3mp (except when using Camera360 which is a pretty cool workaround for me). I might still want to give it another try though.

Forgive my ignorance...if I flash the HTC kernel to fix this and then flash back to netarchy...do I lose all data like with a ROM flash? I am of course aware of and use Titanium Backup but just curious if a kernel flash was kinda like a radio flash or not.

Thanks!
