Re: amon and revoked question...
I read the other thread and it did not address the root question.
I am coming from the Incredible and Unrevoked was king. Actually it was the only choice. I must say I used unrevoked the day i got my evo and one click to root and s-off was very nice. if anyone can explain why another more difficult method is better I would love to hear it. |

Re: amon and revoked question...
Using ClockMod recovery does not wipe very good so that is the problem there. I download with Rom Manger or move it to root with computer. I use Aman Ra 1.80 recovery to reset, wipe, cache and dalvik. Then install zip rom.

Re: amon and revoked question...
Yeah I got Aman Ra loaded so I'm set there.
I'm not completely sold that clockwork is worse but I am not going to mess around with recovery problems. |

Re: amon and revoked question...
Just get rom manager, install clockwork recovery (even though you already have it), then you will be able to load aman ra from "other recoveries". quick and easy install.

Re: amon and revoked question...
Sounds like there is not an answer to your question here. I am S-Off and Rooted via Unrevoked with ClockworkMod and have no troubles. I don't think we are any less rooted. I have gone through the files and cannot find anything where I do not have full SU rights. Coming from a Unix programmer's perspective, I can't see how you can be more "rooted" than that! The question you need to ask yourself, are there any files that I don't have SU access too?

Re: amon and revoked question...
Ok so other resources say unrevoked 3.21 will fully root. At this point someone needs to update the first in sticky...
Next question is, putting arom on the phone, do you have to flash it everytime you flash a new rom or is this just a one time thing? Also, I have a nan backup with clockmod, do I have to make another backup? Because rom manager is saying I need to flash back to clockmod to back up… Or I can enter into recovery mode via amon… then do I back up then? One other question, I went ot flash a zip, and amon said it found nothing… I have a bunch of zips, don't quite understand…? Last edited by pask2155; 10-03-2010 at 08:58 PM. |

Re: amon and revoked question...
I'm rooted with unrevoked 3.21 too. There is a lot of disinformation, and biased information out there.
I've used both clockwork and amon and I really don't see how one is better than the other. They both have the same function, it sits as your recovery image and doesn't touch your roms. its a one time thing. |
