you dont lose any info. you need to contact the unrevoked people if you are having issues with unrevoked.

if you have a basic understanding of how to root my instructions will walk you through it. if you dont than either contact unrevoked or leave your phone how it is

some unclear steps...

1st - you need to uninstal htc sync and htc drivers
through

control panel?

2nd - download unrevoked 3 from http://www.unrevoked.com/recovery/
3rd - run the Reflash-bundle.exe you downloaded (it will ask you to extract to a folder) I created one called unrevoked3. it will extract all teh files you need
4th - plug your phone in and run reflash.exe from the files you extracted.

disk mode??

5th - follow the instructions in the popup window and it will root your phone enough to install the tethering app
6th - use the attached file and save it to your sd card.
7th - install the tether app you just downloaded
8th - when prompted select remember for superuser access
9th - you can start wifi tethering



can i safely delete the files i dragged into the sd card after the processes are over?

if i reboot my phone, will it still be rooted?

will the froyo 2.2 update in the near future unroot this phone?

yes through control panel, run the uninstaller. also do a search for htc if you have win7 and if anything pops up, delete it.

disk mode? just plug your phone to the computer, the compter will recognize it and run reflash on your computer.

yes you can delete the files after rooting

reboot will NOT lose root

not sure what the froyo patch will do. best to NOT DO ANY UPDATES until further notice by unrevoked.com

yeah when i connect phone to pc, usually theres an option for which way it is connected. guessing disk mode?

should usb debugging be checked or unchecked?
