Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

Yeah, I know how to do that already; I am just trying to find out if the fact that I am on EVRC-B is what is keeping my EVO's from connecting to the Airave..

Sprint said that shouldn't have anything to do with it, but, not sure I believe that..I am trying to find out if anyone here has an EVO, and they connect to their Airave using EVRC-B or C.

Thanks!

Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

I tested this last night and my speed was not increased. It actually went down a bit. In addition, in the one minute before my screen blanked, I watched my battery drop four percent. Changed everything back and my speed went back up and the battery didn't change.

This is with a Sprint tower in viewing distance from my house.

I do like have full bars for voice conversations inside my house, that is why I have an Airave. If I want faster data inside the house, I just turn on WiFi to my 10mbit dsl connection.

I wish somebody would make an app to make subtle changes like enabling it via ##DATA# and then to force roam like we had with WinMo. I travel all over the East Coast and this would be beneficial.
they came out with a new airave that now suports data

Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

I went from 500k X 40k (after a reboot) to 1.92mbs X 33k I will try again in a few hours but for some weird reason this has seemed to help.

okay I just hit 2.13 X .6 this is crazy almost nullifying my need to switch to 4g

Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

MSL reader from the market works perfectly... i just did this change here at my office, will try it at home where there isn't so much steel and concrete surounding me:

Via mobilespeedtest.com, before: 357.kbps, after, 398.1 kbps.

[edit]

I just walked outside - mobilespeedtest.com put me at 479kbps
