Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
I don't fallow the 2hr charging deal...I usually leave my phone on the charger for more than a few hours if need be. I tend to use my car charger to charge my phones because I'm on the road more often than not. It also seems you may not have changed the setting in the phone to get better battery life. There is a thread on this forum that shows you how to conserve battery life and get more out of your Evo 4G. Just though I would throw that out to ya.

Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
Guys I'm not talking about how to change setting which I have done. I am saying the phone will say the battery is fully charged aka green light in about 2 hours. The charger I got takes around 4 hours or more to fully charge a battery.
One type of charging is called a fast charge which is what the phone does. The other would be a long or trickle charge. The latter, a trickle charge, is a better charge as you will get more life out of the battery. A quick charge on the other hand will still read as full but it will dissipate faster EI it going from 100% to 96% while in standby after 30 mins. I believe HTC is aware of this and that was their weird statement about fully charging then unplugging turning phone off charging again blah blah.... If I am incorrect about the time it takes for a battery to charge or if I am the only one who has had the percent drop from 100% too fast then I apologize. This thread was started and posted so people would have an explanation for what was happening and a fix. I do not have a problem with the battery but found this made it better. |

Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
I never had problems with quickcharge on WinMo. In fact, I don't think these ones are quick compared to how fast my TP2 used to charge. And my TP2 would hold a charge for at least a couple of days with light to moderate use. The EVO takes forever to charge. And... I wouldnt be so sure about how much juice you have on a cheap $10 chinese battery. It is unlikely that it is reporting the charge correctly.

Did you read my posts??? I didn't say I was using the batteries that I got with the charger (which were touch pro 2 batteries) I was using the stock red EVO batt. Why do you feel a need to come into my topic and call me an idiot? I mean really yeah your right the phone is lying and it's not really going longer without a charge. Hell the battery usage screen is lying and I made this up just to screw with you! All I am saying for a 3rd time is that an external charger works better. You get about 20% more out of a battery. Now here's a question why do people feel the need to post even though their post say nothing? Is it a reflection of how empty and pointless there life is? Are they the people when you see them coming you try to act busy? The ones when you are screwed and have to talk to them you feel like a little piece of your brain dies in the process? Sorry just getting a little hot I am cooled now. If I offended you good your stupid posts that had nothing to do with my topic offended me so we're almost even now. I remember why I rarely start threads and generally only post to answer questions! Last edited by NuLLKiLL; 07-13-2010 at 05:34 PM. |

Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
I hear what you're saying. My phone does the same thing. I would leave my phone charged overnight and it would say 100% when I unplug it. But after a few minutes, it would drop 1-2 percent while being idle. I disabled all running services running in the background. I notice that it starts to get better like once it gets between 80-90%. Maybe I will have to get an external charger to test it out.
Edit: Just saw this thread and it makes sense: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=128523 Last edited by kris510; 07-13-2010 at 06:53 PM. |

Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
You guys really need to listen to NullKill, cause he's speaking the truth...here's my experience:
So my battery life wasn't that great, even with all the tweaks adjusting all the settings in the sticky, I decided to get extra batteries. I looked on ebay and saw a deal for 2 batteries and a charging dock for 10 bucks from some dude in China. To make a long story short, I got the dock and batteries, plugged in the dock to charge my battery and thought it seemed like forever to get charged in comparison to my EVO. Well when i used the battery today I was shocked to see my battery stats! I plugged in the battery this morning at 8:30 am and when i left work at 7:00 pm today I had 80% battery with moderate use (bout 2 text's, couple of picture mails, bout 10 minutes of calls, 10 min of web). Needless to say i was amazed at the results and was about to post until i read this thread. This goes along the line of what HTC said, as stated above in an earlier post....I don't think that our phones completely charge the battery. I'm not here to sell anything here, just trying to share the info with everyone. Try it out with any external charger and you will be surprised |

Re: One Of Problems With The Battery
i'm all for getting a max charge out of my batteries, but i simply don't like having to go through the mess of removing the battery cover and putting it back on. I also like charging my phone while it's left on. The snap-on style seems quite fragile so i'd rather not mess with it every day.
It is interesting info though. If true, i would've preferred if we had to leave our devices charging an hour longer to get more life.
