So it's been about a month, what's your data usage like?

I'm just curious as to how much data people are using on their Evo's. If you don't mind, please complete my little survey.

1. How long have you had your Evo?

2. Are you in a 3G only area or a 3G/4G area?

3. How much data have you used since getting your Evo? (you can check your Sprint account online or dial *4 from your Evo)

4. Did you data usage increase or decrease from your previous phone?

5. If it did increase or decrease, by about how much? Was it a drastic change or a minor change?

6. How often do you use the video chat function? If not often or at all, why not? (Mainly, do you not care to use it, or you don't know people to use it with?)

2.) 3g only

4.) No clue I never kept track but probably more.

6.) I've never used video chat and dont even know anybody who has it.

5. Average over the last year on my Touch and TP2 was .4 GB with a peak of .7GB

6. I used Fring video chat once, just to try it. Never used Qik video chat, but I had used Qik both prior to my EVO and since getting it.

One comment on my data usage. My EVDO signal strength is not great where I spend most of my day and I found it had a negative impact on my battery, so I switched over to wifi and found my battery life increased dramatically. However, this also had the effect of limiting my data usage through Sprint, so I imagine my actual data usage is much higher than what Sprint indicates.

5. almost on par with the touch pro. Which I still have and is at 5 gigs. Started 6/28. Only lower because I use the Evo as my primary.

6. Tinkered with it but haven't used much yet.

1.34GB for last month

if you have your wifi on/use wifi this data won't be on your bill because it's not going through sprint.

Thanks for the replies guys, very interesting. I thought maybe people might be using a lot more data on their Evos since phone is capable of doing so much, but i think it depends mostly on what people want to do with the Evo. Also interesting that most of you that have responded so far don't really use the video chat. I figured that was the case though; video chat probably won't become popular or widely utilized until there's a standard that will let people video call anybody on any device (phone, video game console, computer, etc.)
