OTA can't flash back!

I got the OTA update and for some reason decided now was the time I wanted to root my phone. Yeah I know it was bad timing but that's my problem. When I try and load the img file to root it tells me it failed and I know it is because of the new update. So I tried to flash an older Sprint ROM before the OTA and it keeps telling me there is a bootloader error [140]. ANy advice?

Not trying to be a **** but there are quite a few threads about this... No, if you updated, there's no going back, there's no rooting, there's no unrEVOked... We're fukt for now.

Re: OTA can't flash back!

Are you serious, that's pretty lame for sure. I thought I could at least flash back to an older ROM (6/5) and then root. I can't believe HTC would do this to us, well I guess the devs on here will be hard at work.
