Nothing to worry about. Here ya go Sprint Hotspot = $30 a month, you can use your phone to connect your laptop, ipods..whatever to wifi internet, just like you would in your house using your wireless router. 4g and 3g connection. Wifi Tether = FREE - This will require you to root your phone. You can connect devices just like the Sprint hotspot, using 4g and 3g connections. Wired Tether = FREE - Just like Wifi tether only you connect your phone to your laptop via usb cable and you can get internet on your laptop using your phones internet connection. Wifi = Connecting your phone to your wireless router or coffeeshops wireless internet is free. It's just a feature of your phone. Don't panic. It's free! Hope that helps you out!

Since the OTA arrived, we are unable to tether for free as Sprint/HTC locked us out. Hopefully the people at unrevoked can come out with a new version to let us back in...

So if I want to connect my phone to my home's WIFI and then use my phone as a router to wired tether to my computer ( I do not have a wireless internet card on my computer) is that possible for free on a non-rooted EVO?

Not sure I completely understand what your last post is asking OP. but I think this is it. If ur talkin bout gettin your homes WiFi internet connection to an older computer that doesn't have WiFi, just go buy a wireless adapter for $15 or $20 . Then you can connect it to your homes WiFi.

What did you try with. I was using easytether from the market. You install it on the phone and install there application on your computer and just plug it in and connect . Couldn't get pdanet to work for some reason.
