let me guess you're running Amon recovery? I'm using clockwork recovery and it flashes it fine no need to rename or anything.

Here is the general idea:

I ASSUME YOU ARE ALREADY ROOTED
(I'm fully Rooted and I have ROM Manager Installed its available in the Market)

Power off the phone
Hold the volume down button and press and hold the power button
Scroll down to "Recovery"
Wait for device to boot into ClockworkMod Recovery
Scroll to install zip from sdcard
show it were the zip is
reboot

This is how it goes down for me your experience will very I'm sure. Good luck..

Last time I checked you can't do modifications unrooted.

JESUS now i get an error my phone goes like this

"Reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data
wipe cache"

so i hit "Apply sdcard:update.zip" and it goes

--Install from sdcard...
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:signature verificqtion failed
Installation aborted

so what i do wrong?

Dude you arent running update.zip

ignore that always!! looks like you wiped all your data though..bummer

choose the option below it..

*install zip from sdcard*

then find it on your sdcard and load it..i believe that update.zip option is for if you fubar your recovery it lets you load the clockwork..im not sure its been awhile since I had to run it but ignore it..you need to choose the option that lets you pick the zip from sdcard.

see i dont have install from zip option and im running recovery via clockwork

heres what i got

what version is that? do you use ROM Manager? There has been quite a few updates recently..that is really weird..

maybe you're running an old version of it possibly? I assume you're fully nand unlocked etc?


edit....i noticed at the top it shows Android Recover so you are not in clockwork recovery..while in that screen above if you hold volume up and power does it take you to clockwork recovery?
