You can ignore the prompt that says it's not compatible. That's just referring to the automatic activation. You can still do manual activation.

Have you already gone through the instructions on the Google Voice website to enable Google Voice voicemail for your mobile number? To double check, log into your Google Voice account from your computer, go to Settings -> Phones and click "Activate Google voicemail on this phone" and it will give you the manual setup instructions... If it says "Deactivate Google voicemail" then it's already set up.

any of you guys have an issue where the you get the sms thats supposed to be intercepted by the system? it reads something like "//android xxx-xxx-xxxx has sent a voicemail... " i am running fresh rom .53, google voice and handcent and SMS popup

i like SMS popup because it allows me to set different sms sounds to each contact.

I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong...
If I set my GV number to forward to my office or home (other than my cell) then the voicemail feature doesn't work.
I want the calls into my GV number to forward to a different number than my cellphone but still able to use GV as my EVO's voicemail
