Brower limitations on EVO

I am coming from the Mogul with WM6.1. I have dscovered that there are a lot of web sites that I cannot go to that were available on the Mogul.
I used to stream AM radio stations using theStreamCenter.Com/PDA but when I trues to go to a station, I am hit with Cannot download. The size of the item cannot be determined.

Other sites I visit tell me "Not able to open a second page" or words to that effect.

Ay least I can still stream southpark but no hulu movies.

Is this a phone, OS or browser limit?

Re: Brower limitations on EVO

Try Dolphin HD browser from the market. It seems better than the built in browser.

I don't believe this is a problem with the browser so much as it is that the media player isn't supporting the streaming of those codecs.

If you read on the stream center page it actually says:

"Google Android and Palm webOS:
We're looking into possible solutions. Nothing has surfaced just yet. "

EDIT: Saw this thread on xda which may provide another alternative. Good luck!

Re: Brower limitations on EVO

about the cannot open page thing... are you talking about when you have 3 pages open and it won't let you open another one? if so, just go to "window" and close one of the open pages. also try other android browsers: dolphin browser hd (very feature rich browser) and skyfire

Re: Brower limitations on EVO

True about the being unable to open up another page. You have up to 4 you can open which you can't really see until you hit "menu" then "windows". You can close some by hitting the X button on the top left of that window. Also as most mentioned, use Dolphin HD browser. You can get it from the Market. It can open up to 8 tabs and all tabs are visible and you can close right away. You can also swipe right for your bookmarks and swipe left for your options. I like this browser over the stock one or Skyfire.

Re: Brower limitations on EVO

I think the point of the OP is that if you try to open up one of the streams it assumes you are trying to download it rather than stream it through a media player.

Glad it worked for you. And if you've seen those ESPN radio commercials showing during the world cup on sprint tv they are quite funny.
