radio version or bad antenna!!??

hey im tired of the signal situation with my phone and wanna know if it can possibly be the radio or do i need to return the phone? i have none of the other issues with my phone like i have been reading about and this started happening after the ota update. could that be the problem or would it be more less the antenna. i went to an area where i always had full signal with my hero and i will have full signal and then it will just drop all the way down. doing that back and forth. then sometimes it wont even get full signal. any ideas? would rooting help or that has nothing to do with it?

There are also a lot of people having random soft resets. I am starting to wonder if this is the same scenario all of us HTC Touch Pro and Touch Pro2 users had toward the end of last year. Turned out the solution was to flash another radio. Still gathering pieces and putting them together.

Yeah try to flah the original shipped rom back that will put the radio back to original or maybe reflash the radio maybe it didn't load right. Might also try to update your PRL or there is the other thread where people loaded PRL from Tmobile and Verizon that have helped to.

How does that work? Being on another network? Is there a bunch of charges involved? If not that would be really cool cause Sprint doesn't even have 3g down here

There was a new PRL released today. 60666 it supposedly fixes some text and calling issues.

Yeah.. kinda weird huh.. on 6/16 60666 was released into the wild. This must be PRL Codename "Da Beast Release" HAHAAAAH.. sometimes I make myself laugh. As far as the radio going back to stock... here ya go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696462

No you would have to get the shipped rom from the upgrade section and flash it puts everything back to original shipped before the update was run.

ok thanks ill give em a try. been considering rooting but seems tho alot of people have bugs. so far this is my only issue but its also a big one lol no service is no good
