I used cucusoft that ripped movies to the ipod format, and it comes out terrible on my EVO, probably due to the larger screen on the EVO...however when i put in transformers from the hd2 the picture was INCREDIBLY CLEAR on my EVO. Anyone know what converter I can use to get that clarity on my EVO?

check my last post jus now, cus i use the same files i use on my Ipod an they come out clear

Handbrake is pretty nice. For Windows, my favorite is Super. It will handle converting from absolutely anything, to absolutely anything, and allow you to control every setting imaginable.

+1 for Aimersoft. Here is a short clip showing the quality. This was filmed using a SONY DSC-TX5 Digital Camera so bear in mind it doesn't do it justice!

I've been using DVD Ripper Platinum... It works great and can output in all sorts of different types of files.

if you have an nvidia video card that supports cuda try badaboom. super fast .mp4 encoding leveraging the gpu for conversion. average full length movie converts from .vob in about 15 minutes
