Exclamation HTC EVO 4G SPRINT Rebate

I just upgraded two(2) of my lines on a family plan to EVO's with the $100 mail-in rebates on both of them. I was just reading through the Sprint Rebate Requirements which states you must:

1. "Activate your new device(s) with a two-year agreement on each line of service by 9/25/10"

And also to...
2. Include sales receipt
3. Fill out rebate form
4. Rebate

I was going to sell one of the EVO's, which would mean that i wouldn't activate it on my family plan account. Now I was curious if this might void the rebate on that phone.

Anyone have any ideas??? or did I pay 299.99 for that one?
Thanks

You paid $299. Best bet is to return it and by at Best Buy or Radio Shack where the rebate is instant

No because it will have to be active on your line for 30 days.

Edit: Thats if you go through sprint, bestbuy/radioshack the phone will have to be activated in store but I don't know if it has be active for 30 days though

Radio Shack and BB will require you to activate it right there in store.

Re: HTC EVO 4G SPRINT Rebate

Yes they will activate it in store but you can switch it to whatever line you want. No need to wait 30 days when buying at a 3rd party retailer. Best buy, walmart, THE Shack.

Re: HTC EVO 4G SPRINT Rebate

To be able to get the rebate, the phone has to be activated on your line for 30 days...Unless your buying the phone outright for $449 without contract, you will have to activate the phone on your account. Also keep in mind that the Factory Warranty on the Evo if sold to another party will be voided...The person your selling it to won't get your warranty on the phone.

Re: HTC EVO 4G SPRINT Rebate

Not advising this but I don't know if the rebate people really check to make sure that the phone is activated for 30 days. Last year I bought a BB Tour and mailed in the rebate the same day. Hated the Tour and returned it after 4 days. Still got the rebate check in the mail 3 weeks later.

I got my Evo from BestBuy and that has me tempted to mail in the rebate now and see if I get it honored.

Though you got an instant rebate from Best Buy?

So any recommendations to still get the mail in rebate without activation?
